Privacy and cookie policy
How Ezo Education collects, uses and protects the personal data of users of the Zo'One app and this website.

This privacy policy (the "Privacy Policy") describes EZO Education's rules and procedures for processing the personal data of users collected through the Zo'One App and/or the Site (www.ezoeducation.com).
EZO Education ensures that this personal data is collected and processed confidentially and securely. However, we will be obliged to disclose your personal data to government authorities or official agencies in the context of an investigation into alleged criminal activity.
The Privacy Policy forms an integral part of EZO Education's general terms of sale and use (Terms).
1. Definitions
Capitalised terms have the meaning given in this article or where the term is first defined, whether used in the singular or plural.

2. Processing of Personal Data
2.1. Data controller
EZO Education is the controller of personal data.
To exercise their rights, withdraw their consent or ask any question, Users may contact EZO Education by email at: info@ezoeducation.com
2.2. Lawfulness of processing
Users must accept the Privacy Policy without reservation before any use of the App and/or the Site, and each time EZO Education changes the Privacy Policy.
Otherwise, Users will not be able to access the App and its content, or the Site.
2.3. Legal basis for processing
EZO Education's processing of Personal Data is based on:
- Users' consent;
- EZO Education's legitimate interest;
- the performance of the contract entered into with Users.
Users may withdraw their consent at any time. In that case, EZO Education will no longer be able to give Users access to the App and the Site.
2.4. Categories of Personal Data collected
To provide Users with the App and the Site, EZO Education collects the following Personal Data:

Not providing optional Personal Data has no consequences for Users.
Statistical data is anonymised.
2.5. Purpose of processing
The collection and use of Personal Data is strictly necessary to:
- provide Users with the App and the Site under the conditions set out in the Terms (in particular, to make educational content available and to connect Users with EZO Education's partners);
- send Users technical updates, promotional offers and/or other information about EZO Education's services;
- manage and maintain the commercial relationship with Users;
- compile statistics on the use of the App and the Site.
Accordingly, by signing up, Users agree to receive EZO Education's newsletter and to be contacted occasionally by email, SMS or push notification. To unsubscribe from the newsletter, Users can click the unsubscribe link included in every communication sent by EZO Education.
2.6. Retention period

2.7. Recipients of Personal Data
Personal Data is shared with the following Service Providers to analyse use of the App and the Site and to offer targeted content:

Personal Data may also be shared with the competent authorities when required by law or in the context of legal proceedings.
With Users' express agreement, Personal Data may be shared with EZO Education's partner institutions and companies connected with school, extracurricular or student activities (banks, mutual insurers, sports or language trip organisers, etc.), a list of which will be available to users. Users may withdraw their consent for this purpose at any time.
2.8. International transfers
Personal Data may be transferred to servers located outside Africa and the European Union, such as in Canada or the United States of America.
EZO Education takes all necessary measures to ensure that Personal Data is processed securely and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. No Personal Data is transferred to an organisation or country unless adequate protection is in place.
Users' acceptance of the Terms and the Privacy Policy constitutes their consent to these transfers.
2.9. Security measures
To keep Personal Data secure, EZO Education has implemented the following technical measures: access controls with logins and passwords, SSH-key protection of the database, and a firewall.
Users are aware that the Internet and electronic storage methods are not completely secure. While making its best efforts, EZO Education cannot guarantee absolute security.
3. Cookies
3.1. What is a Cookie?
A Cookie is a small file stored by a server in the memory of a computer, tablet, phone or browser when a website or app is used.
Most Cookies are only valid for the duration of a visit.
Cookies have various uses: in particular, personalising the pages displayed, storing technical data used to control access to the website, remembering your login or the contents of a shopping basket.
They may be used for advertising purposes.
3.2. Why does EZO Education use Cookies, and for how long?
EZO Education uses Cookies to make navigation easier for Users, compile visit statistics and analyse traffic on its Site.
A Cookie's lifetime is limited to twelve (12) months.
When this period expires, Users' consent is requested again.
3.3. What types of Cookies does EZO Education use?
EZO Education uses:
- functional Cookies, for purely technical purposes, to ensure access to the Site's features; these Cookies allow the Site to work normally and efficiently, make navigation and use of its essential features easier, and optimise its technical management;
- statistical Cookies, which collect and store anonymous information about use of and traffic to the Site in order to produce anonymous statistics. In particular, EZO Education uses Google Analytics and Amplitude Cookies;
- advertising Cookies: EZO Education has no control over social networks' collection of information about Users' browsing on the Site combined with the Personal Data they hold. Users are invited to consult those networks' data protection policies directly. In particular, EZO Education uses Google Ads, Meta and TikTok Cookies.
Users can manage these Cookies directly through their browser. Each browser has a different configuration, described in its help menu.
4. Users' rights
In accordance with applicable laws and regulations, Users have the right to access, rectify and erase their Personal Data, to restrict or object to its processing, to set instructions for the retention, erasure and disclosure of their Personal Data after their death, and the right to data portability. Users also have rights relating to automated decision-making and profiling.
Holders of parental authority may request deletion of their child's account (a User under fifteen (15) years old) if they consider it necessary to protect the child's best interests.

Users are free at any time to accept, disable or delete all Cookies through their browser settings. Deleting functional Cookies may, however, affect the normal operation of the Site. EZO Education cannot be held responsible for such malfunctions.
5. Third-party websites
EZO Education has no control over the content, privacy policies or practices of third-party sites or services that may appear in the App and/or on the Site, and accepts no liability in this respect.
6. Changes to the Privacy Policy
EZO Education reserves the right to change the Privacy Policy at any time by publishing an updated version in the App and on the Site.
EZO Education will inform Users of any change no later than fifteen (15) days before the new version of the Privacy Policy comes into force.
Any change made necessary by a change in applicable law or regulation, a court decision or a change to the features of the App and/or the Site will take effect immediately.
If Users do not accept the amended Privacy Policy, they will no longer be able to access the App's content.
